The research unit is an integral part of the Unit of Infectious Diseases in Odense, which is the third-largest unit for infectious diseases in Denmark, serving 1.2 million citizens in the Region of Southern Denmark.
Since all patients with complex and life-threatening infectious diseases in the region are referred to this highly specialized unit, the research unit has ideal conditions for conducting solid research.
In 2021, the Unit of Infectious Diseases was the most publishing clinical department at Odense University Hospital, with 112 publications in PURE affiliated with the Clinical Institute, University of Southern Denmark.
