The project examines which national and local decision-making processes that are behind the employment of treatment technologies within cancer treatment at hospitals, and how social processes, actors, logics, and objectives have significance for these.
The objective is to generate specific knowledge regarding the decision-making processes that occurs at the national multi-disciplinary team conferences (MDT) and during the healthcare professionals meeting with the patient. Hereafter, the objective is to improve knowledge sharing and learning processes among healthcare professionals and hospital management across hospitals in Denmark. The project has a particular focus on kidney cancer but also investigates how we can generate more normative knowledge regarding decision-making processes including treatment choices in other health professional treatment areas. PhD student and anthropologist Henriette List conducts the study.
