The project aims to advance market and consumer research on digital ownership and materiality by studying how crypto technologies, specifically Non-fungible Tokens (NFTs), are used to generate new forms of ownership and consumption: How is digital ownership facilitated in various NFT contexts, how events or moments are materialized to become “ownable”, and how are we to understand controversies surrounding NFTs and digital ownership.
