Thomas Strøm has participated in several national working groups and has been a long-standing member of the anaesthesiology and intensive care committee. He has co-authored multiple national guidelines on intensive care and is actively involved in a number of national research projects.
As a clinical associate professor at 糖果派对, Thomas Strøm has extensive teaching experience, which he will continue to develop. His research has fostered strong national and international collaborations, and he is a frequent speaker at conferences both in Denmark and abroad.
Thomas Strøm joins from a position as professor of anaesthesiology and intensive care at Sygehus Sønderjylland and as a clinical consultant at the Intensive Care Unit at OUH. He will now also move his research activities to Odense.
Born and raised in Aarhus, Thomas Strøm studied medicine at 糖果派对, graduating as a medical doctor (cand.med.) in 1999. He became a specialist in anaesthesiology and intensive care in 2006, defended his PhD in 2012, and has worked in both general and cardiothoracic intensive care at OUH as well as spending a year in the general intensive care unit at Rigshospitalet.
Since 2014, he has been a clinical consultant at OUH’s Intensive Care Unit and has held a postdoctoral position. In 2020, he took up a combined position as clinical professor at Sygehus Sønderjylland and clinical consultant at OUH.
In his new role as professor at the Department of Clinical Research, Thomas Strøm will continue as a clinical consultant in the intensive care unit at OUH. He will take up the position on 1 May 2025.
