What is a PhD programme?

A PhD is a three-year academic research programme in which you independently carry out a scientific project and conclude with a PhD dissertation and an oral defence. You must have a master’s degree or equivalent to be approved for a PhD programme.

In some cases, you can define the topic of your PhD yourself. In other cases, you apply for a vacant PhD position.
