Biomembranes

Research introduction

Many cellular processes involve the remodelling of membrane structures via protein-induced shape transformations or changes in physical membrane properties.

This is for example happening during repair of ruptures to the plasma membrane where a curved membrane neck forms around the hole. By studying artificial models of cell membranes using microscopy, image analysis and modelling, we seek to determine mechanisms of membrane processes in cells.
