We base our research on the idea that existential and humanistic perspectives are crucial for understanding human existence in the world. Therefore, we explore existential themes in human life and professional contexts, both when it works well and when it presents challenges.
In our research group, this includes a focus on existential themes related to patients and their relatives, different life stages, and the significance of culture and the surrounding environment. We carry this knowledge into the other branch of our research projects, which deals with professionals' approaches to and communication about existential themes, including faith when it is significant for citizens, relatives, patients, and clients.
We are an interdisciplinary research group with researchers working in health psychology, clinical psychology, existential psychology, and environmental and architectural psychology. Our research is conducted interdisciplinarily with mixed methods, qualitative studies, survey studies, case studies, RCTs, or clinical interventions.
Our vision is to develop research and interventions that impact society.
