The GEOSYN project is a cutting-edge initiative funded by the European Union under the Climate, Energy, and Mobility program (Grant agreement ID: 101172812) with a mission to revolutionise industrial energy efficiency using geothermal technology. This groundbreaking project combines steam high-temperature heat pumps and heat-powered cooling systems to unlock the full potential of geothermal energy using water as the working fluid.
GEOSYN will deliver a trustworthy, cost-effective, environmentally friendly energy solution for industrial application across Europe. While a key goal is to improve energy efficiency while reducing reliance on fossil fuels or grid electricity, the project also wants to promote public and policy awareness of geothermal energy's benefits.
The GEOSYN consortium consists of 10 organisations from different countries (Italy, Denmark, France, Norway, Ukraine) representing different levels of geothermal maturity and with extensive experience in the sector, both from the technological and social sciences point of view.
