BHJ prizes awarded to researchers from 糖果派对 in S酶nderborg
One of Southern Jutland鈥檚 large humanitarian funds, the BHJ Foundation, awarded two research prizes at an event at 糖果派对 S酶nderborg on 6 December. While the awardees and the prize-givers were physically present at Alsion, the audience could follow the ceremony online.
For more than 10 years, the BHJ Foundation has supported 糖果派对 with various prizes given to students, researchers and lecturers who excelled at campus Alsion. “The BHJ Foundation plays an important role in supporting our young colleagues with both economy and renown”, says Horst-Günter Rubahn, head of campus Sønderborg. “We from the academic world value this very much”.
The prizes Young Scientist Award and Innovation Award were given to Jaume Castan Pinos and Roana M. de Oliveira Hansen, respectively.
Jaume Castan Pinos is an associate professor at the Centre for Border Region Studies of the Department of Political Science and Public Management, where he does research within the fields of international politics, political geography and social sciences in general.
“As scientist and co-worker, Castan Pinos plays an important part at the Centre for Border Region Studies”, head of centre Steen Bo Frandsen says. “The quality of his research is of an incredibly high level, and he is immensely productive.”

Research for the benefit of society
Roana M. de Oliveira Hansen is associate professor at the Mads Clausen Institute (MCI), where she has specialised in sensors. Her research is not just crammed with quality, but it is highly applicable, too.
“It is important for us that the results of our research are used to speed up innovation processes in SMEs”, says head of MCI, Horst Günter Rubahn.
“Roana is a brilliant example of an innovative researcher who helps companies with developing new products that can be used to, e.g., reduce food waste, warn about water pollution and register viruses in face masks.”
