Research and research projects

The Co-HIST research group brings together researchers working on the history of welfare, state, politics, and gender within the larger cross-disciplinary setting in Danish Centre for Welfare Studies. Our work spans a broad range of themes in the 19th and 20th Century history, including

  • The history of welfare and public health
  • Economic History, Business History and and market-state relations
  • Gender studies and family history
  • State-building with a focus on the 19th and 20th centuries.

Our work covers national, comparative and global history – but we put a special emphasis on the history of the Nordic model of society. We strongly believe in methodological pluralism and cross-disciplinarity.
