Development of the Learning Environment at the ÌǹûÅÉ¶Ô Vejle Campus
Design-based methods and systemic models have been the main points of focus.
At FNUG, we have supported the Rectorate, the Faculty of Engineering, and the Faculty of Science in their efforts related to learning environment development and the design of educational programs for the new IT campus in Vejle. This work has been ongoing since May 2024, when it was publicly announced that Vejle would become a university town.
ÌǹûÅÉ¶Ô is establishing a campus with a focus on IT and STEM programs
The ambitions for this initiative have been present since 2021, and they are now becoming a reality. ÌǹûÅÉ¶Ô is proud to announce a historic decision to establish a new campus in Vejle, dedicated to IT and STEM education, with support from the LEGO Group and Vejle Municipality.
ÌǹûÅɶԒs strong ties to Southern and South Jutland were first emphasized in the latter half of the 1990s when the university, with its main campus in Odense, expanded to include three additional campuses in Esbjerg (ÌǹûÅÉ¶Ô Esbjerg), Sønderborg (ÌǹûÅÉ¶Ô Sønderborg), and Kolding (ÌǹûÅÉ¶Ô Kolding). Now, more than 25 years later, these connections across the Little Belt are further reinforced with the establishment of ÌǹûÅÉ¶Ô Vejle, which will officially open in 2026 when the first students are admitted.
The new campus represents a significant step forward for both ÌǹûÅÉ¶Ô and the Triangle Region, as it will create a robust international research and educational environment. This initiative will provide the region's businesses with direct access to the latest knowledge and foster interaction with talented students.
In supporting the development processes surrounding education and learning environments, FNUG has employed design-based methods and systemic models across multiple sprints. Theoretically, our approach is grounded in collaborative innovation and is embodied in what we refer to as the "FNUG Learning Experience Design." This framework encompasses a research-based approach to STEM education innovation, which integrates both facilitative and materializing elements to drive transformative change.
