Sustainable Movement(s)* Network (SuMoN): Establishing a network to create more holistic approaches to sustainable recreational spaces in Europe

The project aims to create a new research and practice network with the goal of better understanding how outdoor and indoor spaces, recreational activity and related social movements can be developed to capture synergies between environmental, economic and social dimensions of sustainability.

*Movement refers to physical movement e.g. sports, play and other forms of physical activity, while movements refer to social movements e.g. associations, voluntary work and civil society, which in many cases are prerequisites for supporting physical movement.
