DIAS and MoCS Welcome 2025 Visiting Junior Fellows in Applied Phenomenology

The Interdisciplinary Phenomenology Cluster at the Danish Institute for Advanced Study (DIAS) is proud to announce its fourth round of the Visiting Junior Fellowship in Applied Phenomenology.

This initiative continues to attract outstanding scholars aspiring for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) postdoctoral fellowship, with two successful MSCA recruits already integrated into the Movement, Culture and Society (MoCS) group at the Department of Sports Science and Clinical Biomechanics (IOB).

This year’s fellows hail from the US, Canada, and Belgium, bringing expertise from diverse disciplines, including science and technology studies, philosophy, psychology, and geography. Their research will contribute valuable insights into pressing contemporary issues.

Among them is , a clinical psychologist from Harvard Medical School, exploring artistic interpretations of suicidal experiences. , a researcher from York University, investigates the role of extended reality in healthcare training. , from KU Leuven, examines public health responses to societal crises through a transdisciplinary lens. Lastly, , from the University of Delaware, studies transgender academics' experiences in university spaces amid growing challenges to transgender rights.

“We’re happy to see the program contribute not only to the recruitment of top junior researchers at ÌǹûÅɶÔ, but also to the growing community of international researchers at MoCS and IOB", says Anthony Fernandez, Assistant Professor of Applied Philosophy at the Danish Institute for Advanced Study (DIAS), who coordinates the visiting fellows programme.
