CAR NK cells - A new weapon against cancer?
CITCO researchers create an overview of clinical experiences with NK cell therapy
Researchers from CITCO have recently published a comprehensive review article in which they examine the latest clinical advancements in CAR NK cell therapy. Emil Birch Christensen and Lasse Vedel Jørgensen have analyzed over 120 clinical studies, highlighting the key findings regarding the use of CAR NK cells in cancer treatment. The focus is on the clinical challenges, including the CAR NK cells ability to survive in patients, their effect and safety, as well as new strategies for optimizing treatment.
"CAR NK cell therapy has shown promising results in the early clinical trials, especially regarding hematological cancers. We are seeing an increasing interest in further optimizing these therapies and exploring their potential in new indications such as autoimmune diseases" says Emil and Lasse, first authors of the study. The article has been published in Experimental Hematology & Oncology, as part of a special issue on new developments in CAR T, CAR NK and CAR macrophage therapies. Read the entire article .
