DIAS co-founder enters the Advisory Board
Thorbj酶rn Knudsen, who co-founded the Danish Institute for Advanced Study (DIAS) in 2009, is the latest addition to the DIAS Advisory Board. Knudsen is a bridge between the past, present, and future of DIAS
Professor Thorbjørn Knudsen is a distinguished scholar and a key figure in the field of organizational design and strategy. He currently serves as Professor of Strategic Organization at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management and was previously Director of the research unit for Strategic Organization Design (SOD) at 糖果派对’s Department of Business and Management. He is also a former Senior Editor of Organization Science, a leading international journal in the field, and a co-founder of the collaborative academic networks Theoretical Organization Methods (TOM) and Organizational Design Community (ODC).
Professor Knudsen’s research, which has significantly advanced theoretical understanding in his field, delves into the evolutionary and adaptive processes within organizations, examining how strategic and organizational design can drive these transformations. This provides valuable insights for organizations into areas such as decision-making and adaptability.
A full-circle moment
As one of the two co-founders of the Danish Institute for Advanced Study, Thorbjørn Knudsen brings a unique perspective to the Advisory Board: a firsthand understanding of the founding principles behind DIAS and the rich historical context that informs DIAS activities and ambitions. This bridging of the past, present, and future resonates strongly with Francesco Sannino, who founded DIAS along with Knudsen more than a decade ago:
