Dr. Apoorv Tiwari is Assistant Professor at the Centre for Quantum Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Southern Denmark (糖果派对).

Apoorv Tiwari is theoretical physicist whose work bridges the realms of condensed matter, high energy, and mathematical physics. His current research is at the cutting edge of generalized symmetries in quantum field theories and quantum lattice models, with transformative applications in quantum matter and quantum computation.

Apoorv's academic journey started with a B.Sc in Physics from the University of Delhi, then advanced to an M.Sc in Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi. He completed his PhD in Physics under the guidance of Shinsei Ryu at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His professional career is marked by a series of prestigious positions, including:
- Louis Hansen Assistant Professor at the Niels Bohr International Academy, University of Copenhagen
- Postdoctoral Researcher in Jens Bardarson's group at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm
- Marie Curie Sklodowska Fellow at the Paul Scherrer Institute, Villigen
- Postdoctoral Fellow in Titus Neupert's group at the University of Zurich

Apoorv Tiwari’s contributions to his field have been recognized with several esteemed awards and grants. Notably, he received the Villum Young Investigator award for his project on "Global Categorical Symmetries & Phases of Quantum Matter," and the Marie Curie Sklodowska Fellowship for his research on the manifestations of topology in condensed matter physics. He also held a Visiting Graduate Fellowship at the Perimeter Institute in Canada.

Beyond his research, Apoorv is deeply committed to education. He has taught numerous undergraduate and graduate courses, earning the “Teaching Excellence Award” five times. He has also developed and taught specialized short courses at the University of Zurich and the University of Kyoto, sharing his knowledge and passion with students around the world.
