Master鈥檚 degree for working professionals

From the 2028 intake, you can study a master鈥檚 degree programme for working professionals in different structures.

A master鈥檚 degree for working professionals is a postgraduate degree in continuation of a bachelor鈥檚 degree or professional bachelor鈥檚 degree, just like a regular master鈥檚 degree.

In a master鈥檚 degree programme for working professionals, you delve deeply into your subject and learn to apply your academic knowledge to solve real-world problems in the business sector. You will have the opportunity to connect your academic skills and competencies from your education directly with relevant work tasks.

  • A 1+2 master鈥檚 degree for working professionals is a 1-year full-time study followed by two years of part-time study combined with relevant employment of, for example, 25 hours per week.

    The programme comprises 120 ECTS credits and is targeted at certain natural science and engineering programmes. It is a requirement that you are an entrepreneur or have a job that is relevant to the education during the 2-year part-time study.

    You can apply for SU (student grants) for the part of the programme that is a full-time study.

  • When studying for a 4-year master鈥檚 degree for working professionals, you must work alongside your studies in a job that is relevant to the programme or as a self-employed individual.

    The programme consists of 120 ECTS credits, and the working hours are generally 25 hours per week, but may be less depending on the structure of your educational course.

    You cannot receive SU (student grants) when you are studying a 4-year master鈥檚 degree for working professionals

  • A flexible master鈥檚 degree for working professionals is a part-time study of either 75 or 120 ECTS credits. The length of the programme may vary.

    It is a requirement that you are an entrepreneur or have a job that is relevant to the programme throughout your studies. The number of hours you must be employed depends on the structure of the programme.

    You cannot apply for SU (student grants) when studying for a flexible master鈥檚 degree for working professionals.

  • A combination master鈥檚 degree for working professionals is a shorter full-time study followed by a longer part-time study combined with relevant employment.

    A combination master鈥檚 degree for working professionals constitutes 90鈥�120 ECTS credits, and the length of time you must be a full-time or part-time student varies between programmes. During the final part of the programme, which is a part-time study, you must work as an entrepreneur or have a job that is relevant to the programme.

    You can apply for SU (student grants) for the part of the programme that is a full-time study.
