Mathias Teuchler joined ATLAS as part of Blagoy Blagoev's group in 2023, where he contributed to the search for biomarkers in plasma using untargeted proteomics, culminating in his bachelor's thesis.
As of October 2024, Mathias was employed as a Ph.D. fellow at ATLAS. His research focuses on investigating obesity regression in a human cohort and its effects on the proteomic landscape during metabolic-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD). This study will employ data-independent acquisition-based mass spectrometry, primarily analyzing liver and subcutaneous white adipose tissue. His work will involve a specialized experimental pipeline, with data analysis utilizing recent advances in computational methods. Through this approach, insights into obesity regression, biomarkers, and tissue composition may be uncovered.
